Rite VII: Motherhood
Becoming a mother
"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable."
Our Children, Kahlil Gibran

Birth as Rite of Passage
The birth of a baby is a birth of a mother. Serie of documented processes anteceding and after childbirth.
As a Rite of passage before becoming a mother K Sea Ya created and performed with her community of artists, a series of movement scores at Sea Ranch and with Cellula Lab residency.
The resources of movement was a dialogue between the current phase of life, the environment surrounding, memories of womanhood with different phases of life.

At Cellula Lab K Sea Ya invited Kristi and Ryan Elisabeth to join an art residency at Safe House in San Francisco. The series portrays movement/theater based on active reflections on the Rites of Passage involving womanhood.

The last celebration was a community Blessing Ways put together by dear friends Kristi Williamson, Yeshua Adonai, and Sandra Sears.
