Essential oils have long been known to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and antiviral properties and are being proposed to have activity against SARC-CoV-2.

The essential oils from the leaf of E. globulus showed varying degrees of antibacterial activity against two clinical isolates. From the above experiment, it can be inferred that extract suggests significant growth-inhibiting effects on Gram-positive (E. coli) and Gram-negative bacteria (S. aureus). The efficacy of leaf oil of E. globulus against these microorganisms may provide a scientific ground for the application of the herb in the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections caused by various pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, which have developed resistance to antibiotics.

Sometimes it becomes a shelter or food for fish and other aquatic species or ends up on the shores. It can become a foundation for dunes or inspire the mind of an artist. Much driftwood also comes from man-made objects such as pieces of furniture and boats and lost cargo from ships, wood still having its ancestry grounded in a tree. Life doesn't cease to happen when the wood breaks. Like everything in nature, it is transformed into a new becoming…in the ocean, the wood drifts in a journey along the seas and it is vivified.
